There is a gross mistake in this page: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ ... ghlight=30

House # 166, lines 27 to 33, the name Thériault should be replaced by Quirion, the real name of this family.

The same family can be found in 1901 census, house # 107: http://automatedgenealogy.com/census/Vi ... ph+Quirion

Joseph Quirion is my great grand-father

Hello Jean-François,

I established the links between 1901 and 1911 for Joseph Quirion. I corrected a few errors already posted on that page and finally, I proofread the whole page, leaving mary errors to correct. Another adjudicator will certainly make the follow-up on:

http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ ... ghlight=30

However, since the rule is "transcribe as written", I couldn't ask to correct "Thérault" for "Quirion" since it's clearly written "Theariault". Besides, there is no other "Quirion" in that subdistrict. So, I couldn't compare the writings of "Quirion" for the same enumerator. However, I looked one "Quinn" family and clearly the "Q" of "Quinn" is not written like the "T" of "Theariault".

Then, I posted a footnote indicating that the family would rather be "Quirion", as you mentioned.

Thanks for your message and interest.

Michel Dubois, Quebec City.

Bonjour Jean-Francois et Michel -

I have reviewed and accepted Michel's corrections. I agree with him that adding Quirion as a surname note is the way to address this presumed mistake on the part of the original enumerator. This way anyone searching the index for Quirion will be directed to this family.

Thank you both! Mark

(Michel, there is a recent correction from the guest questions that you could review please.)

Hello Mark,

I accepted your Laviet correction. It said: 2 records updated. But, Lavut is still there. Mysteries are on the air. I posted a new request for you.

See you and hopefully, I wish that you succeed!

Michel.

Hi Michel -

If you look at the original request under Guest Questions, it was a change to Lavut, not the other way around. So it now reads as it should.

Thanks. Mark
