1911 census Alberta District MacLeod Sub district Coleman Page 27 Line 9, 10, and 12 My great grandfather's middle name was Dunn- his mother's maiden name. My great grandmother's proper name was Elizabeth. My great uncle's name was Robert. Not Roland. I would like to find out the listed occupation of my great grandfather. How do I do that? Thanks, Robin |

Ref.: 1911 / Alberta / MacLeod / 27 Coleman / page 27 Robin, Line 12 - the given name has been corrected to "Robert". The occupation of line 9 is identified in column 17 of the image as "Coal miner". No correction were made to line 9 and 10 because they reflect exactly what the enumerator wrote. The Policy of this site is to transcribe the name as written by the enumerator. What if I find an error in the original census? If the error is in the original census document: - a surname note provides an alternate surname spelling and allows the members of this family to be identified in the result of a search done on this alternate spelling. When entering a surname note, indicate if it applies to the entire family or only to this individual. Also, please include the bibliographical reference to the source that corroborates the surname provided, and if applicable, add an associated note. You will find much more information on this at Surname Notes -for a discrepancy in the given name, gender, and/or date of birth - an online or off-line birth record link is the preferred way to annotate the correct information.
