Toronto East, Dist 2, pg 12 , lines 5-8: Surname is given as Binbrooke......should be SAMBOURNE Line 6 Given Name shoud be Ada J These are ancestors of mine. His name appears correctly at this same address in the 1912 Toronto City Directory. I do have the Free BMD Index Marriage record for William and Ada. Thank You ! Heather |

Ref.: 1911 / Ontario / Toronto East / 2 Toronto / page 12 Heather, Lines 5-8 - The surname has been corrected to "Sinbourne" which is what I read the enumerator wote. Therefore, In added Sambourne as an alternate surname. Line 6 - The enumerator wrote "Ida J" as the given name. What if I find an error in the original census? If the error is in the original census document: - a surname note provides an alternate surname spelling and allows the members of this family to be identified in the result of a search done on this alternate spelling. When entering a surname note, indicate if it applies to the entire family or only to this individual. Also, please include the bibliographical reference to the source that corroborates the surname provided, and if applicable, add an associated note. You will find much more information on this at Surname Notes -for a discrepancy in the given name, gender, and/or date of birth - an online or off-line birth record link is the preferred way to annotate the correct information. Please provide the url for the BMD or a digital copy of marriage of William and Ada, and I will do the linking. Cheers, |
