Could you please look at "Foster, Mary E." in the 1911 census of Winnipeg, Manitoba, enumeration district 14, pg. 4, line 7? She appears as age 71, which is correct, but her birth year is transcribed as 1870, which is impossible for a person who was 71 in 1911. From personal knowledge I know that she was born in NB in Feb. 1840. I know that the handwriting is very difficult to read on that page but if you magnify it a lot, I think you will see that the birth year that is written there really does say 1840. She was the widow of Stephen Kent Foster & for comparison purposes, you can look at the same family in QUEBEC in 1871, 81 & 91. Also on line 5, you see her son whose given name name was "Fred K." but it has been transcribed there as "Leech? V?"
