Hi, just wanted to let you know the correct first name spelling for my grandmother and another. It is the 1911, Ontario, prince Edward County, 26 Sophiasburg, page three. The census shows:
line 23, Simpson Edora?
... and this one is my grandmother, same first name as me. It should be:

Simpson Elva

Line 25 just below shows:
25 Simpson Cruenne? and it is Simpson Cyrena

Just wanted to let you know in case a change is possible. Thanks from Elva Ware, Victoria BC

Ref.: 1911 / Ontario / Prince Edward / 26 Sophiasburg / page 3

Elva,

Line 23 - The given name has been corrected to "Elva"; and
line 25 - The given name has been corrected to "Cryenne" which is what the enumerator wrote.

What if I find an error in the original census?
If the error is in the original census document:

- a surname note provides an alternate surname spelling and allows the members of this family to be identified in the result of a search done on this alternate spelling. When entering a surname note, indicate if it applies to the entire family or only to this individual. Also, please include the bibliographical reference to the source that corroborates the surname provided, and if applicable, add an associated note.

You will find much more information on this at Surname Notes

-for a discrepancy in the given name, gender, and/or date of birth - an online or off-line birth record link is the preferred way to annotate the correct information.

Cheers,
