The Real name is John Balsillie , He was one of the founding fathers of the City of Winnipeg. You will find him and his wife Adiade mentioned many times in the Winnipeg Free Press Achives. He is also listed as an employee of The Hudsons Bay Company. I came apon him when I was looking for our family history. This family is found in 1906 Cenus Winnipeg Manitoba, Subdistrict 03+E, Page 23, lines 17 to 20. Beth Balsillie

I have linked the family to the 1906 entries you pointed to. There was already a surname note in 1901 for Balsillie, but I have expanded it with your comments. Any luck in finding them in 1911? I had a quick look, without success.

Re Balsillie, John and family. John died in 1906 and his family moved to join other family members in ontario or the USA. I think this is the ansister of Blackberry mogul Jim Balsillie.
