When the 1901 census was first released I hand searched the microfilm at our local library and found my great-grandmother and her family residing in Halifax NS. About a year ago I got a computer and decided to look them up on the on-line automated census but couldn`t find them even though I knew they were there. My great-grandmother is Annie MOORE and she was residing with her parents Robert and Ellen and brothers Arthur, Alex, Rupert and William. After some effort I found them listed with the family name of MORRE? . I also noted that the proof checker correctly identified the family name as MOORE but it is listed only as a possible correction at the bottom of the page. MOORE not MORRE? is correct. As a cross check Ellen (misspelled Elen) Moore born in 1851 can be found in the 1911 census residing on School Street in Halifax NS. with sons William Rupert and Arthur. Robert had died in 1906 or 08 and Annie Moore was now Annie Manning. I don`t know what happened to Alex. Thanks for your assistance incorrectng the error. Rod Riva.i
