Margaret Bell is my great grandmother - I am Marjorie Louise Veres.

There is a spelling mistake on the 1901 Manitoba census on line 36 household 92 Bell "Margret" should be spelled "Margaret." Born in "1858" which is correct.

0n the 1906 census "Margaret" Bell is spelled correctly but she now is listed as born in "1852" (That is when her husband John Black Bell was born) That is not correct - "1858" is correct!

On the 1911 census "Margaret" Bell is spelled "Marerste" G. Bell and age 49 is correct still born in "1858."

Hello Marjorie -

The objective with this project is to transcribe the censuses exactly as written, even if the enumerator was in error. I have reviewed all 3 entries and they are now accurately transcribed. It appears that someone has already adjusted the 1911 transcription to read "Margaret", but 1901 was originally written as "Margret" and 1906 as "Margrete J." age 49. With the links between the censuses and your researcher contact note on the 1901 census, the errors on the part of the enumerators should be clear to anyone researching your great grandmother.

Thanks for your input. Mark
