Census: 1851 NB
County: Kings
Parish: Springfield
Page: 72
FID: 10708
Row: 16
Reads incorrectly: Alesen
Should be transcribed as: Alexander

This is my 5x-great grandfather, married to Margaret Dewar, and their children are listed correctly. I have hand written notes and letters from ancestors documenting this name. I haven't found any online sources to substantiate my claim, but my gr-grandfather was Alexander the III and that would be difficult unless his grandfather was Alexander also. (just kidding around) Let me know if you need copies of the notes which demonstrate this name for your satisfaction.

Hi Equinox -

Based upon your information, I have corrected the given name to Alexnd, which is what I read, and I see other abbreviations used by this enumerator.

If any of this family is in the 1901 or 1911 censuses, I'd be happy to link the records.

Thanks for your interest and input.

Mark
