Hello,

In my long career on Automated, I found many families enumerated twice. I put a note in each case for each year, but I don't really know what's the best to do in that situation.

Thx for helping.

mcmichael,

At automatedgenealogy, it was decided that linking the duplicate entries together was the best possible solution without falsifying the original documents. Also, on the original document, the duplicated entries may not be 100% duplicated and the extra or different information may be of value. Often the duplicated entries are then result of the family moving at the time of the enumeration.

By linking the duplicated entry, we leave it to the researcher about how to handdle the situation upon noticing the duplication.

Please note that other individual enties from the other census year would (eventually) be linked to these.

Cheers,
