Hi, Existing links to the 1881 census are not being displayed. Is this a temporary problem at familysearch.org? thanks Rose |

R Martin, I tried to access directly familysearch.org and got the 404 Not Found error. Therefore it is a problem with familysearch.org. Thanks, |

I contacted support@familysearch.org and the following is their reply to my query: Quote: Thank you for contacting FamilySearch regarding the Canadian 1881 census.
A 404 error message indicates that the server couldn’t find the page you requested. The URL you are referring to may have linked to our old FamilySearch web site which is no longer available. The old site reached its limits. We needed a much more robust system to handle the old data (IGI, Ancestral File, Pedigree Resource File, etc.) as well as the millions of new records being added. The good news is that the 1881 Canadian census is available on our current site (https://www.familysearch.org/). Scroll down and click on “Canada” under the “Browse by Location” section. You will then see an extensive list of online Canadian records in our Historical Record Collections. You can click on “Canada Census, 1881” to search that collection. Have you visited our Canada Wiki page (https://www.familysearch.org/learn/wiki/en/Canada)? You might find information that will help you in your research; or perhaps, you have something you can add that would help another researcher. The Research Wiki can be located by clicking on “Learn” from any FamilySearch page. We wish you continued success using FamilySearch Historical Records.
