Any chance you will add a search criteria by first names. I found my Eldred Noel as Eldria Nowell in the 1901 census on Forfar St. in Goose Village. Just found him on Melrose Ave in Verdun on the 1921 census and know he was there by 1914. He remarried in 1908 at Knox church and may have moved to his new wife's address in downtown Montreal. I cannot find him in 1911. A first name search for new wife Elizabeth or son Charles would be really useful as I have their birth years. Tried a zillion variations of the surname already and browsed Verdun and Goose Village. He seems to have slipped from the directories in this period. Appreciate the huge amount of effort by volunteers. Frustrating when I know the data is in the system but no easy way to pull it out.......Thanks. |

We have considered and dismissed the possibility of a first name search on AutomatedGenealogy. I suggest that you look at the Surname Index of the District or SubDistrict in which the name should be recorded. Sometimes the surname is only listed as ? because it is unreadable from the image, but you could recognize it if you knew what it should be. Good Luck. Marilyn |
