Michel - This is my linking, and the pages are not linked to "themselves" but to a different enumerator's pages. In other words a whole area appears to have been enumerated twice. If you look at the images the text is in a different hand and this is not a case of the Archives erroneously posting the images twice. There are small differences and by linking the double enumeration it may help a researcher in having the two versions to compare. Thanks. Mark |

Hello Mark, Thanks so much for your explanations which clarify the issue. In the Quebec city area, I found at least 50 families enumerated twice, but in different areas, probably due to normal family movings during the census operation. Many of them where also owners of summerhouses on Isle d'Orleans. May I suggest the addition of footnotes to explain those double entries, which totalize at least 350 persons in that Hochelaga case. I also checked directly on the LAC pages and those double entries figure there as well (which is not surprising since it's the same source as in AG). Michel. |
