In the 1911 New Brunswick Census The Family #96 From Line # 32 to Line # 40 Dufourd should be Dufour . Also # 38 Is Laura not Lot? This is my Dada' family. If you go to the 1901 Sensus you will see that it was spelled the correct way. I want to thank you for your help. This is the first time I have sent a message so hope i got it right. Ref.: 1911 / New Brunswick / Victoria-Madawaska / 12 Madawaska Parish / page 11

Jim,

I made the 1901-1911 links for Dufourd Michel and his son Michel.

Lines 32-40 - No corrections were made to the surname Dufourd because this is the way the enumerator wrote if and it is the policy of this site to transcribe the name as written by the enumerator.

Line 38 - The given name hasbeen corrected to "Lore(?)" where the"(?)" means that the name written look like "Lore".

What if I find an error in the original census?
If the error is in the original census document:

- a surname note provides an alternate surname spelling and allows the members of this family to be identified in the result of a search done on this alternate spelling. When entering a surname note, indicate if it applies to the entire family or only to this individual. Also, please include the bibliographical reference to the source that corroborates the surname provided, and if applicable, add an associated note.

You will find much more information on this at Surname Notes

-for a discrepancy in the given name, gender, and/or date of birth - an online or off-line birth record link is the preferred way to annotate the correct information.

Cheers,
