I am trying to find birth records of my great grandfather, Thomas Proctor born in 1856 in St Catherines, Lincoln Co, Ontario, Canada . His father was James Proctor from Lancashire England and his mother was Rachel Potter Proctor also from Lancashire England. Could you direct me in the right direction on locating this record. Kay, Birth record registration in Ontario became a requirement on 1 Jul 1869. For births before 1869, baptismal records will be your best bet. I looked through the LDS records and they have Feb 1856 for his birth. Thus no registered birth records. https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:371Q-84J He immigrated to USA with his parents in 1860. Sorry I could not be of further help. |
