Hi Mark Gord and Michel,
I added corrections to the following pages of
Quebec City East Jacques-Cartier (Ward) A-13 for your review:
A) page 16 lines 2 & 9
B) page 15 line 3
C) Page 14 lines 12 & 42
D) page 13 lines 2 & 13
E) page 12 lines 5, 15 & 26
F) Page 11 lines 43 & 45
Similar correction should be made to the other pages.
Also on page 2, lines 21, 29, 30, and 45, which are strike out lines, the sex column is either empty or used to complete the name of the individual, therefore it should be transcribe using the "Blank" option of the drop down menu.
The relationship, marital status, date and year of birth and age columns and more have been used to record the individual profession (i.e. the owner of the commercial establishment, and also states the residential address of this owner which is in another sub-district.) which is the reason for the line to be struck out. I can see two ways to transcribe such lines:
A) leave the fields empty in the transcription; or
B) transcribe these fields using the 1911 census notation (i.e. an "*" ) to denote that the field contains a non-standard input, and include a line note indicating the content of the fields.
From my point of view, I prefer option B, but will ask Lindsay how he would wish to transcribe such lines and hopefully he will reply to this post.
Cheers,
