I'm new to this. Was there a census every ten years? So is there an 1891 and an 1881 etc?

Granit carver,

See http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/census/index-e.html for all the Canadian censuses.

That site provide the image of the actual census pages and provide sone transcription electronically searcheable.
Our site provide the transcription of the 1851/52, 1901, 1906, and 1911 which are not available on that site.

See http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/data ... 133-e.html for the history of Canadian censuses.

Cheers,
