The Vancouver Public Library has scanned and released images of British Columbia Directories 1860-1947 which are now available at;
http://www.vpl.ca/bccd/index.php/browse/indexFor the past couple of months I have been testing the "tool"
exclusively on the 1911 census for Vancouver and have found that, while not perfect, it is a very useful tool in that it has separate directories for residents alphabetically (head of household) and by street address. I have been informed that if a person is not found in the 1911 directory that I should also check the 1910 AND the 1912 directory.
A BIG thank you has to be given to the Vancouver Public Library for their work. I just hope their server is robust enough to handle the user access!
