Hello,

Just a sweet reminder on the following message sent last april and not yet responded:

"I was just wandering why 4 pages are kept with a transcription status on, even if those pages have been totally transcribed:

http://automatedgenealogy.com/census11/ ... &dir=1911b

The flag is on for pages 2, 3, 4 and 5."

Hi Michel -

We've just tried to do a review of your old messages to deal with anything not previously addressed. This one is a bit confusing. Unless you were the original transcriber (but then why would you be asking the question as you did?) our guess is that these pages were transcribed but mistakenly not claimed by the original transcriber. You probably came along later and either accidentally or intentionally claimed the pages so you are now listed as the transcriber and therefore see the transcriber status as on (it isn't that way when I look at it) and can make changes as you see fit. As long as you don't mind having your name on these pages, it is probably a good thing to have someone responsible and activity inThanksvolved taking responsibility for these orphan pages.

Does this answer your questions/concerns about these pages?

Thanks. Mark

Hello Mark,

I remember that Alain made a special call two years ago or so, asking for the transcription of those pages, where appeared linked lines right away after the transcription. This would mean that the original transcriber decided to erase each of his original entries. I already sent a message about those "automatic" linkings and the answer was the original transcriber probably erased his data.

I would assume that a reset in favor of the actual transcriber is more than desirable.

Thanks for reviewing the situation.

Michel.

Hi Michel -

I've asked and it isn't possible to track down the original transcriber.

Mark
