my ancestor Arthur Sullivan was a visitor at 60 Irene St, Hochelaga, St. Henri, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. It is a blurry image and I can't blame Lou for the transcription error.
The last name is transcribed as Sullanvian and should be Sullivan.

Hi John -

I am a sometime resident of Agnes St, two streets over from Irene, so know it well! The streets were named for the mayor's daughters - St-Henri was an independent municipality until 1905.

I have looked at the transcription and while I think the transcriber has one letter too many in there (I've added a small correction for another volunteer to evaluate), we have to list it as written. I have therefore added a surname note so that he can also be found under the proper spelling. Have you found him in the 1901 census? If so I can link the two records to add an additional means for him to be found by others.

Hello Mark and John,

I proofread the page and added some requests for correction plus some links and the addresses.

I would rather suggest "Sullaivan" rather than "Sulliavan" with the dot on the wrong letter.

Thanks to the marvelous Lovell for the precious aid!

Michel Dubois, Quebec City.

Yes, the Lovells Directories are particularly easy to use in 1911 with the addresses conveniently beside the names in the census.

The page has been reviewed and corrections accepted.

Thanks. Mark
