Hello Alain,

I saw that you adjudicated this page in Charlesbourg:

http://automatedgenealogy.com/census52/ ... p?id=43684

But there, I don't agree with your decision to maintain the wife's surname for all the family because the enumerator Giroux forgot to repeat the husbands surname after the wife's surname.

I transcribed the whole Charlesbourg subdistrict and I tell you that the Giroux's practice was usually not to repeat the husband's surname for the children.

So I deliberately gave the husband's surname for the members of the family instead of the wife's surname.

I think that we must use the common sense rule in that case. Otherwise, you will have to add a lot of notes and render the researches almost impossible.

Over the last 3 months, I made an extensive research on the Mann, Hupé and Guilbault families and I know pretty well the families of that area:

On ne transcrit pas "Do" lorsqu'on voit "Do".
