There is a big problem with District 90's numbering. There are at least 3 sections where the numbering starts at 1. There are 39 pages. Does every HH# on every page need changing by 1.2.or 3000 to each line as in 1901?

Page 1-3 Numbers go 1-32. Then #32 (Wellington Barracks) goes on til page 14. Normal numbering from 33 continues to Page 18.
Page 18 begins again at #1 and continues normal numbering to Page 28. Then starts at #1 again.
So far I have proofed down to the end of page 28 using the numbers they used. I might point out pages 18-28 were very difficult and I found many surnames that were ?. Therefore there are a lot of corrections done already.
I am leaving pages 29-39 til I hear from you what to do about it. I think the easiest way to correct it, if it can be done, would be to divide the sections into 1, 2 and 3 under the District #90. Hope this is relatively clear!! CM

Hi Cheryl -

The households numbers are (mostly) fixed, and with relatively little effort thanks to the programming brilliance of Lindsay. Because this problem occurs relatively frequently in Montreal and elsewhere, he set up the ability for me to add 1000 to HH#s with a single click on a page.

You will note however that it now appears on all of your corrections that you are requesting a return to the old HH#s. The best way to deal with this is for me to gradually adjudicate the corrections.

Also, on page 20, you corrected a duplicated HH# to 1028 but now that the rest have been increased by a 1000, there is no longer a difference. Would you mind reentering corrections to those HH#s (to 3028 perhaps?) and I can then accept them (I can adjudicate other people's corrections, but not ones I add).

You sure picked a challenging sub-district to tackle!

Cheers, Mark

I just managed to press delete on the correction for line 31, page 20 after accepting just the first question mark. If you wouldn't mind redoing that line as well as the 1028 household numbers.

Sorry. Mark
