Line 38 was missed in the initial transcription then added as Line 50. I could proof all the lines but it would be an awful mess!

Thanks.

Hello Cherryl,

I just added a note about that transcription transfer on line 38.

Thanks for all,

Michel Dubois.

That has not been accepted practice - we have always corrected the page properly "as enumerated". I'm not going to proof it that way and I would like to know if the rules have changed.

Hello Cherryl,

Indeed, you're right. I used to correct and replace the lines in the proper order.

But there is another rule, extracted from the main FAQ paneL:

"I missed a line doing a page, how do I correct this mistake?

Providing that you skipped a line entirely you can just add the missing line, they do not have to be added in order.

If you entered subsequent lines with the wrong line number then the line numbers need to be edited. "

Thanks for your dedication,

Michel Dubois.

Hello Cheryl,

Sorry for the extra "r" on your given name.

Lindsay has moved the information on line 50 to line 38 where is should have been placed in the first place. Very few people are set up to do this without going through the labourious process of adjusting all the subsequent lines on the page.

Thanks for flagging the problem Cheryl and Michel.

Thanks very much for the clarification. I honestly hadn't seen that instruction so it was my problem. It's okay about the "rr" in my name !!

Thanks, Mark. Allain usually does work like that but he has been busy so I didn't want to bother him. I thought doing it via note was not up with the usual standard. I will proof the rest of the page. Thanks. Cheryl

Michel, Cheryl and Mark,

The FAQ
"I missed a line doing a page, how do I correct this mistake?

Providing that you skipped a line entirely you can just add the missing line, they do not have to be added in order.
If you entered subsequent lines with the wrong line number then the line numbers need to be edited. "

is leading to some misinterpretation.
It means that you do not have to transcribe lines in order: i.e you can transcribe line 1, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7 then line 4
but line 4 is to be transcribed as line 4, not as line 8 or 51.
The second line of the FAQ indicate that if line 5 was transcribed as line 4, line 6 as line 5 and line 7 as line 6, then for these transcribed lines, the line number needs to be edited to the right number to match the original.

I hope that this explanation clarify this type of situation.
