In 1905. Sarah Watson and William A. Lockwood were married in Niagara Falls. His parents were Walter and Clara Jennie. In 1911, he is listed twice - with his birth family as single and with his wife and child! He, Sarah, Ralph, his father Walter, mother Clara, and several of his siblings, and their spouses are buried near each other in Fairview Cemetery, Niagara Falls. I cannot figure out how to link these two William Lockwoods from 1911 and then link them to the William Ichwood (Lockwood) of 1901! Suggestions?

1911
Lockwood William 27 Ontario Welland Niagara Falls 44 14
35

Lockwood William 25 Ontario Welland Niagara Falls 46 36
36

1901
Ichwood William A. 16 ON BRANT (South/Sud) Brantford (City/Cité) a-4 2 11

Hi Jayne -

I gather from your own research that you are quite convinced that the two Williams in 1911 are one and the same person, despite the differing marital statuses and month and year of birth. I have therefore added the extra link.

Thanks. Mark

Thank you, Mark, for believing me on this one. I have a bunch of jpgs if you would feel more comfortable with documentation. This is the first instance of someone being entered in two different families for the same census year that I have run into! I have found the same person(s) listed in two different places (census being taken on different days - visiting one household and then in the actual home) a few times. I have a friend who recently found that her g-g-granfather, who disappeared from Grimsby, Lincolnshire, in the 1870's was listed in the 1881 Australian census. The truth will out.

Thank you again,

Jayne
