As all 1852 Canada West pages have been claimed for a few weeks and the transcription of quite a few pages have yet to be completed, many of which appears to have been abandoned. Therefore the Page Unlocking Policy similar to the one that was instituted for the 1911 census is now in effect for 1852 Canada West.
Pages not completed by a transcriber may be unlocked for completion by other volunteers. In order to be fair, an Unlock Notice will be posted on the message board as a reminder for transcribers to complete their pages within 21 days of the posting.
This unlock notice may be posted by any volunteer, with a listing of incomplete pages and a link to the sub-district summary page. The name of the transcriber must be listed in the title.
