I am having trouble finding relatives in the 1906 Manitoba census. The same with 1916 I know these people were there however, I am unable to find them. Does anyone have any ideas of useful information. Do you know if the census have been fully transcribed. Any help would be appreciated.

cfleming3,

There are any number of reasons why you can not find your relatives in 1906, ranging from just simply being missed in the census to pages having been lost prior to filming (thus being lost for transcription). The most common reason for losing a family or individual, that I have found is a variation on the spelling by the enumerator. If you have found your relatives in the 1901 and/or the 1911 census, try looking at who the neighbors are and search for these neighbors in 1906 - you may just find them that way.

If you still can not find them perhaps you could supply us with the names and approximate ages of your relatives in 1901 or 1911 and we will see if we are able to locate them.

Cheers

Dan
